Help me rename my blog!

After two months in Texas, I am finally not missing California so much anymore. The dear friends we met there will be with us forever. However,Susannah, the friendly Texans,being back in my home state after 34 years and spring time are all quite wonderful.

But I need a new name for my blog. I would love any suggestions.
If you'd like to think about it for a moment. I mighty even have a prize!!! I am just blank. Help me!

Springtime in Texas

John and I found this beautiful park today and were blessed by a walk after church.

Denise is improving!!!!!

Corrie called last night to say that some of Denise's counts are improving. It was the most hopeful sign we have had since she went into the hospital. We are all just praising God for keeping her with us. Sean, Corrie, and the girls will be going back to Monterey to their own home on Saturday, after a month stay in Denver. They have been so loved and taken care of by Sean's family. The girls have been able to see "Gramma" on a regular basis. Even in her weak state, they have brought her so much joy. Grandchildren just do that. They will be happy to be back in their own beds. However, Sean and Corrie have been so instrumental in Denise's around the clock care. Please continue to pray for her. We all learn to live one day at a time.

The Secret Garden Club

In attempts to save the landscaping around our new apartment, God has inpired me to start “The Secret Garden Club.” At a resale shop, I found a hard back copy of the famous book, "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I introduced the idea to the kids in the complex that were using the flowerbeds as a playground. I don't think they even noticed that they were destroying the landscaping. It is their only playground and they were just being kids. Other adults told me to yell at them if I saw them riding their bikes across the bushes. I was determined to try a different approach.
Here is our first meeting We made membership cards and giggled with Susannah, our mascot.

Later, there were about 6 kids who helped with the replanting of the bushes they had uprooted themselves. After I went inside, they had a major game of hide and go seek. They were running wildly all over the court yard. I sat in the house wondering what our courtyard looked like. When they all went home for dinner, I went outside to see the damage. To my great surprise and joy, not one bush was touched. They had taken ownership and my first mission had been accomplished.

It was cold and raining for our next meeting. I had some little pots of lavender and strawberries that my friend Pam and her daughter Andrea had given me as a going away gift from California. I had this tiny little watering can that I had bought for Jenna and Sophie.

Just three girls showed up. We read the book and planted the seeds. Tiny things are so fascinating.

Today the birds were singing and California has loaned us her weather. After I read, "The Secret Garden", we walked around and looked at how our bushes and plants were doing. This was the group. We watered the plants and named them. They are an energetic bunch. We had fun taking pictures. As we watch the bushes come back to life, I am hoping that the Secret Garden Club will become a spiritual garden. Once again I have a group of kids to love on and to have fun with. My heart is soaring.

Happy 4th birthday Jenna

Our first grandchild, Jenna Kaitlyn McClure, turned 4 today. We celebrated her birthday while I was in Denver. I am home now and so miss her. I got home last Saturday.

This is Jenna and me walking down the hall of the hospital with her new suitcase. Jim and Denise(Sean's parents) gave it to here for her birthday. Corrie snapped this picture since we were dressed alike.

She drug the suitcase everywhere and even slept with it. It is so much fun when a child really loves a present.

Denise also celebrated her birthday with Jenna. We celebrated early while I was there since Denise was so ill. She is still with us. They are giving her another round of chemo. Sean and Corrie and the girls are staying with Aunt Judy and Uncle Jaime until the end of March. It has been a year of difficulty for the McClures. They have made the most of all the moves, and are so attentive to Denise. John and I are so grateful for such devoted children.

I'm in Denver

Sean and Corrie have brought me to Denver to nanny Sophie and Jenna. Sean's mother is in the hospital with a serious brain tumor. You can go to her blog and see precious pictures of the birthday party that the family had for her. We would so appreciate your prayers. Jenna also celebrated 4th birthday.

We are staying with Sean's Aunt and Uncle. They have 9 children and I am in heaven being in this precious house.
