A visit from Aunt Caroler

My other college friend and bridesmaid came to Grapevine on her spring break. She is a teacher in Leander, Texas outside of Austin. I am so blessed that we have stayed so close all of these years. Her name is Carol, but my girls always called her Aunt Caroler!

Heather and Susannah met us for a fabulous day at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens.

Susannah squatted like me as I was taking her picture. She is 21 months old and so warms my heart when she screams LALA!!!!! It is one of her best words. Hard to believe that it snowed the next night. I feel like I am back in Colorado.

Grammy Birbari comes to Town

In 1969, God brought my dear friend Sharon into my life when we lived on the same floor at the University of Texas. She now lives, with her husband, on a ranch in Wyoming where she takes care of 11 horses. She has 4 grandchildren who live in Fort Worth. We love our more frequent visits since we live close to Fort Worth.

Our Heather turns 30!

Troy and I surprised Heather with an intimate dinner of friends and family. Her mother in-law, Charlene drove all the way from Lake Charles to surprise her.

Corrie sent her a fabulous new cookbook with gluten free recipes and a special flour mixture.

John decorated a replica of the cake he did for her 10th birthday. Susannah got to be on this one.

Each guest came as one of the many hats Heather wears and shared how she has blessed them. They came out of the bedroom one at a time as each a mystery guests. She was so surprised.

John grilled for the guys at Troy and Heather's apartment. We were so blessed to be able to honor our precious Heather. She has brought glory to God her entire life.

Rachel is One Week Old!!!

Yesterday Corrie took Rachel to the doctor. She had lost 8 oz. We think it was all in her cheeks.

She'll gain it back in time. This is normal.

A New Day... A New Beach

My job from 8:30-11:am. It was tough but someone had to do it. This is Daisy. She needed some Lala time too.

11:30am Off to a new beach. This one was just 5 minutes away called The Dunes. We invited our neighbor Ellie to join us. I am getting wiser. We had a tailgate lunch instead of our sandy lunch yesterday on the beach.
It was a little hike to the beach. WE decided we were looking for a treasure and the beach would be it. It was a treasure!!!

Today it was 57degrees and blowing. Jenna is a firecracker and wanted to be a mermaid. It was another glorious day. Home in time for naps. Ahhhhhhhh!

Our Mornings...Our Afternoon

Every morning starts with Corrie trying to get a few more minutes of sleep and Jenna holding her baby sister. The day was absolutely perfect 67degrees and blue sky. That is not always the case here in Monterey,so the girls and I went to the beach just 10 minutes away from home.

Sophie preferred to dance on the sand and build sand piles.

Jenna and I actually got in the water. Yes, I met a friend and she took these pictures.

We had very sandy apples and peanut butter and even brought paper to attempt to draw.

Rachel is Home!!!!

Rachel Abigail McClure

Corrie delivered her third little girl this afternoon 12:15 PST. Mom and Dad and baby are doing great.

She weighed in at 9lbs 2.9oz. Her labor was less than 7 hours. They left the house at 7:15am. I got the girls dressed, fed them breakfast,and a friend picked them up. I went to the hospital about 9:45am. It seemed like no time and the doctor was called and here she is.

I got back home in time to pick up Jenna and Sophie and put them down for naps.

God is so good. We praise him for another beautiful little granddaughter.

Lala's plastic flowers

You know you are a grandmother when you start planting plastic flowers.Actually, I bought 6 bunches of 99cent flowers at Michaels expecting to plant them all in the garden. Sophie carried them all over the house having weddings, giving them as gifts, planting them in the sofa and so much more. I told Sean that if she doesn't want to go to college to open a flower shop it will be my fault.
